Hi, I'm Selma.
When there's an important business problem that technology can solve, I'm the person who figures it out.
I'm not the kind of person who learns a new tool because it's popular. I learn it because there's a problem to solve, a process to automate, or something that needs to be designed.
It started with designing my high-school newspaper, evolved into teaching myself HTML and web development, then ColdFusion and enterprise applications. Today it's artificial intelligence. The technology has changed over the years, but the work really hasn't.
The Work Has Always Been the Same
As a Business Analyst at ConocoPhillips, I taught myself ColdFusion to build an enterprise travel security application after discovering there wasn't a commercial product that met our needs. That application eventually became the company's global travel security platform, helping protect thousands of employees and contractors traveling around the world. Years later, it was used to identify and support employees during the terrorist attack in Algeria — work that earned our team a ConocoPhillips Spirit Award.
That experience reinforced something I've believed ever since: sometimes the best solution isn't something you buy — it's something you build.
That mindset has shaped every stage of my career. Whether the tool was PageMaker, HTML, ColdFusion, or AI, I've always been drawn to technology that helps people work smarter and solve meaningful problems.
I've designed websites, developed internal applications, created AI-powered workflows, automated executive processes, modernized decades of organizational data, and built custom tools ranging from executive relationship management systems to interactive board onboarding experiences.
The Tools Changed. The Work Never Did.
Today I partner with executive leadership at the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center while continuing to explore what's possible with artificial intelligence. I use tools like Claude and ChatGPT every day — not to replace people, but to eliminate repetitive work, accelerate decision-making, and create better experiences for the people I support.
Technology has always been my toolbox.
Curiosity has always been my superpower.
Whether I'm building software, designing digital experiences, streamlining operations, or experimenting with emerging AI tools, I'm happiest when I can take something complex and make it simple, intuitive—and genuinely useful.
